Polycarbonate Window & Door Awnings for Ranchi Homes

A single window left unprotected can let rain soak the sill and wall below it every monsoon. Kushal Kraft fits small, purpose-built polycarbonate awnings over individual windows and doors - a scaled-down, targeted roofing solution distinct from a full canopy or car shed.

Not Every Opening Needs a Full Canopy

Awnings solve a narrower, more common problem than an entrance canopy or car shed: one window or door that catches rain and needs a small, well-fitted cover. They project out from the wall just far enough to break rain from hitting the opening directly, usually 450mm to 900mm depending on the window size and wall exposure, fixed with brackets that don't require heavy structural work.

Because they're small, awnings are quick to fit and relatively affordable per opening - which makes them the practical answer when a house has several exposed windows on one weather-facing wall rather than a single large area to cover. We size and angle each awning individually rather than using one generic size across a whole building, since window placement, wall exposure and rain direction vary from opening to opening.

A simple flat projecting panel, the most economical option, well suited to standard window openings where a clean, minimal look is preferred.

A gently curved sheet profile that sheds water faster and gives the window a softer, more decorative frame - a popular upgrade for street-facing windows.

A single-slope angled awning that maximises water runoff speed, best for walls that face Ranchi's prevailing monsoon wind and rain direction.

A wider, deeper awning sized to shelter a full doorway and the immediate step or threshold area, keeping the entry dry even in slanting rain.

Why Add Window and Door Awnings

Keeps Rain Off Sills

Stops water pooling on window sills and seeping into walls or wooden frames over time.

Cuts Direct Sun Glare

Shades the window from harsh midday sun, reducing indoor glare and heat gain through the glass.

Lightweight & Quick to Fit

Minimal structural work needed - most awnings are installed within a few hours per opening.

Adds a Finished Look

A well-proportioned awning gives a plain wall visual character and street-facing kerb appeal.

Installation Process

We start by measuring each opening and checking wall exposure and typical rain direction, then fix galvanised or aluminium support brackets into the wall at a calculated angle. The polycarbonate sheet - solid for a clean, glass-like finish or multiwall for extra heat blocking - is cut to size and fixed onto the bracket frame, with edge trims finishing off the visible edges neatly. Each awning is checked for correct water runoff before we move to the next opening.

Where We Fit Awnings

Homes across Ranchi with west or south-facing windows that catch strong afternoon sun and driving monsoon rain are our most common awning projects, along with kitchen and bathroom windows prone to water staining, ground-floor doors exposed to splash-back rain, and shop-front display windows needing both weather protection and glare control.
